Day Dream 001 Testimonial
“Everything felt deeply reflective, like if I could be here, belong, be seen and see others, then I am okay. It felt like stepping back into that younger, cellular sense of possibility, being surrounded by so many forms of expression expanded me, helped me see my own gifts more clearly, and reminded me I’m on a path without needing to rush.”
—Jen Martin
Learn More About Us
-
Centering Us —
Day Dream is committed to centering creatively-minded women of color and queer folks of color: communities who often don’t have the same access to rest and space to dream, but need it most.
Enduring Kinship —
At each retreat, people come together across disciplines, generations, and life experiences. They share meals, stories, ideas, and space. What begins as a few days together blooms into a connected network of kindred spirits — new friendships, collaborations, and a renewed sense of possibility.Protecting Creativiting —
It is vital, especially now, to protect safe spaces where creative thought, community, and rest can flourish. -
Day Dream 002—
Funding this summer’s retreat to ensure it’s free of cost, and we’re able to compensate people fairly for their time and talents.Expanded Programming—
This fall, we’ll be introducing new programming to deepen the kinships and modes of play for our Day Dream community and beyond. -
Day Dream is created by Caroline Washington and Naima Green, long-time collaborators whose practices meet across art, design, image-making, place-making, teaching, advocacy, and community building.
Together, we bring decades of experience working with artists, institutions, and creative communities, along with a shared belief in generosity, care, and the power of gathering with intention. Our partnership shapes every part of Day Dream, from the people invited into the room to the meals, materials, rituals, and offerings that make each retreat feel considered and imaginative.
